Welcome to 7th grade math! We are excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year. Be sure to check the website at least once a week to keep up with the latest class information. Let's have a great year together!
September 5, 2019- We have had a great start in math class! Students will be completing MAP testing on the chromebooks on 9/9 and 9/10. We expect students to work hard and try their best on this assessment. Students will complete the assessment again in the winter to see measure their growth during the first half of the year.
September 23, 2019- Students will complete their first summative assessment this week. Please be sure to encourage your child to study at home. We are looking forward to meeting you at Open House on Thursday!
October 7, 2019- Please be sure that your child is completing math homework each week. It is important for students to practice the concepts at home. The students will only have to study this week since they will be completing Summative 2. It is a good week to complete any missing work that is still owed.
November 5, 2019- It is hard to believe that today is the last day of the first marking period! The students have until Thursday to turn in any incomplete assignments, as grades are due on Friday. We look forward to seeing you at Conference Night on November 14th to discuss your child's progress in math class.
November 25, 2019- Students will complete Summative 4 in class today and tomorrow. Please encourage your child to study and prepare for the test. We wish all of our students and families a very happy Thanksgiving!
December 16, 2019- Students will be preparing for and completing Summative 5 in class this week. We will start a new unit when we return in 2020! We hope you all have a wonderful winter break with your families and friends. Merry Christmas!!
January 6, 2020- HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing winter break. We are looking forward to a great start to the new year. Stay focused and always do your best as we learn about writing and solving equations and inequalities!
February 24, 2020- We are missing Mrs. Hovis as she enjoys time with her baby at home, but Mr. Tolbert has joined us until mid-April. The students are halfway through the 3rd marking period and are busy studying Probability.
